Remaking a Legendary Action-Adventure Stealth Classic with Konami

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER was an ambitious project with a vision to recapture the essence of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater while enhancing it for modern audiences.

Celebrated for its deep narrative, cinematic experience, and refined stealth mechanics, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater became a beloved classic of the PlayStation 2 era, selling over 4 million copies worldwide and achieving critical acclaim, including a 97/100 from Official PlayStation Magazine and a 85/100 Metacritic score. This strong legacy set exceedingly high expectations for the remake. 

Virtuos was entrusted with supporting Konami in fully realizing a vision that balanced deep respect for the original with modernization powered by today’s most popular game’s engine, Unreal Engine 5. The goal was to recapture the excitement, tension, and memorable moments of the original, while enhancing the experience visually and mechanically for a new generation of players both old and new.

  • Secured the #2 spot on Steam’s Top Sellers chart (excluding free-to-play games) during its launch week, supported by an 83% positive player review rating
