Virtuos today announced that it has reached an agreement with the founders of Abstraction Games to complete a friendly, founder-led buyout. Abstraction will return to independent ownership, effective 1 January 2026.

The transition reflects a shared view that Abstraction is best positioned to move forward with the flexibility that founder-led ownership offers, while Virtuos continues to sharpen its focus on core strategic priorities for 2026. Virtuos and Abstraction remain on positive terms and look forward to continuing their collaboration as commercial partners.

“Abstraction is a talented team, and we are pleased to have reached an outcome that supports a constructive path forward for everyone,” said Gilles Langourieux, CEO of Virtuos. “This transition provides clarity as we move into 2026.”

“Returning to independent ownership gives us the autonomy and agility to guide Abstraction’s next chapter, while retaining a commercial partnership with Virtuos,” said Ralph Egas, CEO of Abstraction.

Virtuos and Abstraction thank everyone for their support throughout this transition and look forward to ongoing collaboration with all partners.
